Principal Responsibilities
  • Monitor and adjust machines to optimize efficiency and minimize waste, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining quality and minimizing downtime.
  • Troubleshoot process‑related and mechanical issues to ensure smooth operation, and promptly report employee concerns and operational challenges to management to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Perform regular inspections of filled products to ensure they meet company specifications and address defects such as weight variations, spills, foaming, or inconsistencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of quality control, production, machine performance, and downtime.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on fill line equipment to prevent breakdowns by identifying and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, and coordinate with the maintenance department for repairs and major servicing.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train fill line machine operators; assign work tasks and ensure operators follow safety and production guidelines.
  • Ensure all employees follow workplace safety protocols and OSHA regulations, and maintain an organized and clean workplace by implementing and sustaining 5S principles.
  • Enforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Prepare reports for management regarding efficiency, output, and maintenance needs.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes.
  • Report parts needed after replacement.
  • Perform daily equipment startup and shutdown tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machinery to ensure optimal operation and prevent downtime.
  • Manage and execute equipment changeovers smoothly and efficiently to minimize downtime and meet production goals.
  • Communicate effectively with the management team, blending, scheduling, quality control, distribution, and other departments to coordinate production activities and address operational or quality issues.
  • Coordinate breaks and relieve quality operators during shift changes and production transitions to maintain continuous workflow.
What You’ll Bring
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Capable of working in various temperature and environmental conditions.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Basic understanding of machine operation and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality control checks.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts.
  • SAP/E1 experience.
  • Experience with hazardous materials handling.
  • Knowledge of industry‑specific safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
