Physician Assitant; Provider

Job Summary

We are seeking full‑time and part‑time Physician Assistants to see patients independently in an urgent care setting. Prior urgent care experience is required. As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will care for patients within the scope of training and approved agreements, as outlined by governing boards. You will work collaboratively with staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction, reporting directly to the Medical Director at AFC Torrance.

• Perform complete, detailed, and accurate health histories, review patient records, develop comprehensive medical assessments, and order appropriate laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies.
• Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals of patients to the appropriate health care facilities, agencies, and other resources of the community or physician.
• Institute emergency measures and treat patients in emergency situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
• Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status, management, and treatment.
• Provide instructions and guidance regarding health care and health promotion to patients, families, and significant others.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and families.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certified – (with 1 yr ER/UC experience preferred).
• Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in California, DEA number, and state‑controlled substance certificate as required.
• Able to multi‑task and work independently.
• Knowledge of EMR and coding.

Each location features an onsite lab and in‑house x‑ray capability. AFC Torrance is a franchisee of AFC. Compensation: $75.00 – $85.00 per hour.
