Overview
Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a Quality Manager for a Metals Manufacturer near Torrance, CA. This is a full-time permanent (Direct Hire) position. Our client will offer a highly competitive base salary ($85,000-$130,000 based on experience) plus an extremely lucrative (discretionary) quarterly bonus structure. This will also feature a comprehensive benefits package and upward mobility within the company.
SummaryThis position will be in Torrance CA. This individual will lead, manage, and provide direction to the Quality department supporting new product introduction, current product evolution, and ongoing process effectiveness. Excellent communication skills along with ten years or more of manufacturing experience in a highly regulated environment, proven leadership experience and a bachelor s degree are essential for this position.
Essential Job Functions- Supervise Quality personnel over our entire product line.
- Effectively act as liaison with the President, Sales, and Operations personnel to produce desired results.
- Drive business results improvements, new product speed to market, throughput increase, scrap reduction, overall COG's reduction, and enhanced safety.
- Responsible for evaluating and recommending new technologies to support current and new products.
- Ensure information and documentation are consistently accurate.
- Management of the quality control department, which includes: CMM, quality, CMM programming, supplier quality, document control), gage calibration, and non-conforming materials (MRB).
- Manage department and personnel in support of production and customer requirements while meeting quality and delivery expectations.
- Responsible for all corrective actions, ensuring that they are implemented, monitored, and verified for effectiveness.
- Performs contract review on customer orders to ensure feasibility in meeting quality requirements/clauses, including risk mitigation, customer flow downs, product verification needs, and more, to support production activities.
- Ensure that QMS is being followed, assist with internal audits as needed to support ISO, AS, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Customer support, including technical quality issues, SCARS, source inspection, and customer audits.
- Technical support for production and quality personnel.
- Ensure quality employees are properly trained, cross-trained, and mentored.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology required, preferably in Mechanical or Manufacturing.
- 7 - 10 years of manufacturing work experience in a highly regulated industry required.
- 5 years of supervisory experience required.
- Well-versed in AS9100/ISO 9001, CMMC, DFARS, ITAR, and OSHA compliance issues.
- Excellent organizational, leadership/decision-making, and communication skills.
- ERP systems, MS Office, and knowledge of manufacturing technologies.
