Outside Sales Engineer - Motion Control Products Torrance, CA

Our client, an established manufacturer of electric motors and motion-control products, is seeking an Outside Sales Engineer in Torrance, CA. The company provides motors, drives, actuators, and related components used in industrial machinery, automation systems, and manufacturing equipment. This position combines technical application support, account management, and field sales. The Outside Sales Engineer will manage existing customer relationships, reengage inactive accounts, identify additional applications, and recommend technical solutions.

Prior sales experience is not required.

• Manage and develop an assigned territory of existing customer accounts, including dormant account reactivation and account expansion.
• Conduct customer site visits to evaluate equipment, application requirements, and technical specifications.
• Recommend electric motors, motor drives, actuators, and motion-control solutions for industrial automation and machinery applications.
• Collaborate with application engineering and technical support teams on product selection, system compatibility, and application requirements.
• Review customer drawings, equipment specifications, and technical documentation to prepare quotations and product recommendations.
• Coordinate customer service, technical support, product inquiries, and application-related issue resolution.
• Deliver technical product demonstrations, customer training, and product presentations.
• Support distributors through product training, joint customer visits, and technical sales assistance.
• Maintain customer account information, sales opportunities, forecasts, quotations, and activity reports in CRM systems.
• Manage territory sales objectives, customer account development, and follow-up activities.
• Travel throughout the assigned territory and work onsite in Torrance when not traveling.

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Technical education or hands-on experience involving engineering applications, industrial equipment, electromechanical systems, or related technical products.
• Ability to interpret and explain technical product information, equipment specifications, and application requirements.
• Ability to travel frequently, including overnight travel generally two weeks per month for approximately three to four days per trip, depending on customer needs.
• Ability to work onsite at the Torrance, CA office when not traveling.
• Ability to travel to customer facilities and meet company driving requirements in accordance with applicable laws.

• Base salary in the 80k - 87, 500k/year range plus bonus opportunity.
• Experienced candidates with strong relevant industry experience and product knowledge may be considered in the 95k - 105k/year range, plus bonus.
