Join to apply for the Import Specialist role at Mid-America Overseas, Inc.
This is a full‑time, mid‑senior level position in the transportation/trucking/railroad industry.
Position Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinates air and ocean freight forwarding of international shipments from door to door.
- Processes US Customs entries in accordance with US Customs and all other government agency guidelines.
- Maintains account information according to client requirements, changes in contact, special instructions and any other additional or revised requirements.
- Negotiates rates with carriers; prepares and submits quotations to prospective accounts on a daily basis.
- Maintains complete regulatory compliance with any related government agencies such as local, US domestic and applicable foreign agencies, and verifies that all government and agency compliance and regulatory requirements are addressed.
- Engages in daily interactions and departmental performance reporting to local management.
- Provides excellent customer service to ensure customer issues are resolved.
- Entry writing and freight forwarding industry experience minimum 3+ years.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).
- Experience in entry writing and some air and ocean freight forwarding.
- Customs House Broker License not required but a plus.
- Position requires working directly with customs, other government agencies, carriers, customers, vendors and all related parties concerning the export process.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Cargo Wise software a plus.
Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000 based on experience.
