Job Title: Accountant

Location: Torrington, CT (Fully On‑Site; Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Base pay: $68,000 – $76,000 per year.

Hourly rate: $34 – $38 per hour.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3–5 years of general accounting experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles, practices, and regulations
• Experience with preparing and analyzing financial statements
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Great Plains, Quick Books, JDE, or Sage
• Familiarity with tax regulations and ability to prepare tax filings

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Prepare year‑end work papers to support the financial statement audit and tax return process.
• Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.
• Post journal entries and conduct reconciliations of bank accounts, inter‑company accounts, inventory accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
• Maintain fixed assets and manage state and federal fuel return filings, sales tax, and highway use tax reports.
• Assist with income and expense reporting and personal property declarations.
• Maintain and update financial records in accounting software.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies and collect and analyze account information.
• Assist with tax preparation and filing.
• Perform month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Undertake ad hoc projects as assigned by management.
