POSITION TITLE: Crisis Intervention Clinician
PROGRAM: Mobile Crisis Intervention Services

Mobile Crisis Intervention Services (MCIS) provides home and community-based responses to children and youth experiencing a behavioral or psychiatric crisis. Mobile Crisis services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days per year and are available throughout the greater Waterbury, Danbury and Torrington regions.

Monday through Friday 2PM-10PM

General Statement Of Responsibilities

The Crisis Intervention Clinician is responsible for direct services with children, adolescents and their families including but not limited to evaluation/assessment; home & community-based services; outreach; case and care management; brief intensive therapies; crisis intervention; record keeping; as well as collaboration with other professionals, team members and related community services.

Examples Of Responsibilities

  • To provide home and community based comprehensive crisis evaluations, treatment plans and treatment of children, adolescents and families.
  • To assess and implement crisis stabilization plans that include immediate tasks for crisis management and connection to clinically indicated resources and services.
  • To provide community-based outreach and treatment services as defined by the treatment plan and/or client need.
  • To complete clinical documentation thoroughly within required timelines to ensure appropriate and ethical care.
  • To carry a work cell phone and to be available to provide emergency mobile services including both phone and face to face interventions.
  • Maintain contact and provide follow-up with families requiring this service including phone and home visit support.
  • Maintain confidential and/or any other required program documents.
  • To work collaboratively as a member of a team with other professionals and concerned parties involved in cases.

Qualifications

Must have the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of both agency and client matters. Must understand and be able to display the clinical knowledge and expertise necessary to perform crisis intervention.

Education & Experience

A master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, social work or related human services field with at least a one-year clinical internship working with children and/or adolescents or families is required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Must hold an active license with the Department of Public Health in Connecticut as a mental health provider at the associate level.

Hours, Compensation & Benefits

  • 40 hours per week; M-F, however, some flexibility with hours
