Machine Operator II – Torrington, CT – 2nd Shift

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, offers opportunities for development and growth. This role supports production operations on the 2nd shift in Torrington, CT 06790.

• Responsible for inspection and general upkeep of the lift truck assigned.
• Inspect lift truck and complete the inspection report for daily maintenance and safety purposes.
• Change battery and clean lift truck as needed.
• Pull the correct scrap foam material according to the product being produced.
• Place the proper material on the conveyor as determined by the production schedule and process flow.
• Maintain adequate materials at the workstation to ensure an even flow through the granulating process.
• Operate granulator equipment and monitor the process to prevent contamination.
• Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Serve as a member of the Plant Emergency Response Team.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior experience operating a lift truck preferred.
• One year of related experience in a production environment.
• Ability to maintain an acceptable attendance level per company guidelines.
• Must be able to read & write English.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures.
• Able to sit, stand, reach, bend, climb and twist without restrictions.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Good oral and written communication skills to interact with employees in the unit and support roles.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating or maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure).
• Requires a high degree of mental and visual attention to perform tasks safely.
