Job Summary

Junior Customs Analyst – responsible for ensuring import and export shipments are compliant with customs regulations and company policies. The role focuses on accurate documentation, classification, risk management, and collaboration with internal teams and customs brokers.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all import and export shipments are compliant with applicable customs regulations and company procedures.
  • Prepare and review customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assign correct commodity codes (tariff classifications) to all goods.
  • Maintain accurate records for all customs transactions in line with audit requirements.
  • Work with internal teams and customs brokers to provide clear and compliant instructions for shipments.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely clearance and minimise delays.
  • Support resolution of customs queries, discrepancies, or delays.
  • Assist with post‑entry reviews and corrections where required.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on customs and trade compliance requirements.
  • Stay up to date with changes in customs regulations and communicate impacts to the business.
  • Support adherence to export controls, licensing requirements, and sanctions regulations.
  • Identify potential compliance risks and escalace issues where required.
  • Support internal and external audits related to customs compliance.
  • Participate in periodic reviews of customs entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Requirements
  • Willing to carry out training (degree apprenticeship) in customs, logistics, or international trade and undertake the necessary training and work experience.
  • Interest in international trade.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders (internal teams and external brokers).
  • Confident working with data and documentation.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Educated to minimum A-level or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft
    365 solutions.
