Responsibilities

The position entails a strong commitment to maintaining high standards in food preparation, safety protocols, and cleanliness.

Key responsibilities include preparing menu items as per the given recipes, plate presentations, and specifications, ensuring each dish meets quality standards.

The role also involves completing all assigned prep work efficiently and setting up the workstation.

Sanitary and safe food handling practices must always be followed.

Clean and sanitize work area before, during, and after each shift. Additionally, completing daily and weekly cleaning projects to maintain a hygienic and organized kitchen environment.

Verification of stock and setup of equipment are also critical tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications

Qualified prep cooks are essential team members in any kitchen, and they must possess a diverse set of skills to excel in their roles.

Great communication skills are crucial, as they need to effectively coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of dishes. Additionally, prep cooks must be highly mobile and able to move quickly and efficiently throughout their entire shift.

Physical stamina is also important, as the job often requires standing for long periods and the ability to lift between 25-50 pounds. These physical and interpersonal capabilities are key to maintaining the fast-paced environment of a busy kitchen and contributing to a seamless dining experience for guests.
