Are you an experienced Customs Clearance Specialist looking for more than just another customs role?
This could be an opportunity to join an employee-owned business where your contribution genuinely matters, you can share in the success of the company, and your customs expertise is valued.
We're looking for a confident, commercially minded Customs Clearance Specialist who understands the importance of accuracy, compliance and customer service, and who takes pride in getting things right first time.
This is a role where you'll have genuine ownership of your clients, work closely with colleagues across the business, and play an important part in delivering a high-quality customs service.
The Opportunity
As a Customs Clearance Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing customs entries from receipt of documentation through to completion, ensuring all declarations are accurate, compliant and processed within agreed timescales.
You'll work with a portfolio of clients, providing practical advice on customs queries while building trusted relationships and ensuring their customs requirements are handled professionally and efficiently.
The role would suit someone who already has solid customs experience and is looking to join a people-focused, collaborative and forward-thinking organisation where there is scope to develop and make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
Review all documentation received for customs purposes and ensure the required information is available to process entries accurately.
Submit customs entries using Descartes E-Customs, ensuring full compliance with current HMRC legislation and procedures.
Work to an agreed two-hour turnaround for EU traffic from receipt of the required documentation.
Provide copies of completed customs entries to clients by email.
Maintain accurate records within Leda, ensuring commercial paperwork and customs documentation provide a complete audit trail for client record-keeping.
Process customs amendments promptly and accurately.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have previous experience in a customs clearance, freight forwarding, logistics or international trade environment, together with a strong understanding of customs procedures and legislation.
Why Join?
This isn't simply an opportunity to join another logistics business.
As an employee-owned company, the people who work here have a genuine stake in the success of the organisation. Your contribution matters, and there is an opportunity to share in that success.
