Are you an experienced Transport Manager and leader, looking to kick-start a new career for an established and growing Road Haulage company? This role could be excellent for you!

My client is looking for an experienced Transport Manager who holds a TM CPC to join their team based Southampton, to manage and support drivers and the fleet of HGV Class 1 and 2 vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead driver compliance by managing drivers' hours, Working Time Directive (WTD), tachograph records, CPC requirements, and licence verification.
  • Ensure the fleet remains fully roadworthy and compliant by overseeing vehicle maintenance, inspections, and transport operations.
  • Act as the nominated Transport Manager, ensuring adherence to Operator Licence undertakings, DVSA regulations, and all relevant transport legislation.
  • Maintain robust, audit-ready compliance systems, carry out internal compliance reviews, and prepare for DVSA and Traffic Commissioner inspections.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop transport personnel while investigating incidents, implementing corrective actions, and promoting continuous improvement through driver training and briefings.
Requirements:
  • Transport Managers CPC is essential.
  • Previous experience working with and routing Heavy Goods Vehicles
  • Previous experience handling fleet management and the booking of MOTs and Servicing
  • Previous experience speaking with and managing drivers
  • Driver's CPC (Class 1 or
    2) is desirable.
