We're looking for a customer-focused, technically minded individual to join our clients H/O team in Towcester.
This isn't a traditional customer service role, they're looking for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, solving problems and getting to the root of an issue - but who also genuinely enjoys speaking to customers and providing a great service.
You don't need to be an engineer or have a technical qualification. What matters most is your logical approach, curiosity and willingness to help
Key Responsibilities:- You'll be the first point of contact for customers, helping them with questions, issues and technical queries and making sure they receive a helpful, professional response.
- Handling customer enquiries, primarily over the telephone.
- Understanding customer issues and asking the right questions to establish what's happening.
- Using your problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and identify appropriate solutions.
- Developing a strong understanding of our products, systems and technical processes.
- Explaining technical information clearly and simply to customers who may not have the same level of knowledge.
- Recording customer interactions and keeping information accurate and up to date.
- Working with colleagues and other teams to resolve more complex issues where required.
- Following problems through to resolution rather than simply passing them on.
- Building positive relationships with customers and ensuring they feel listened to and supported.
You could come from a customer service background, technical support environment, engineering or automotive setting or another role where you've had to understand problems and work out solutions.
- Have previous customer service experience, ideally involving regular telephone contact.
- Are naturally curious and enjoy figuring out how things work.
- Have a logical, methodical and practical approach to problem-solving.
- Are comfortable learning technical information and applying it to real customer situations.
- Can communicate clearly and confidently with customers over the phone.
- Are patient, approachable and able to remain calm when dealing with challenging queries.
- Take ownership of problems and see them through to a satisfactory outcome.
- Are comfortable asking questions and learning from more experienced colleagues.
- Are genuinely interested in developing their technical knowledge.
The position is best suited to someone who can get to the Towcester area within approximately 10-15 minutes. This is an important part of the role, as we're looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with us and is comfortable with the daily commute.
Why join us?This is an opportunity to develop a specialist skill set combining customer service, technical knowledge and problem-solving.
You'll receive structured training and support to build your technical understanding, while gaining experience in a role where no two customer conversations are necessarily the same.
If you're someone who likes helping people, enjoys solving problems and has a natural technical curiosity, we'd like to hear from you
