SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time

NN12 (Towcester/Tiffield Area)

Full‑time, September start, ongoing opportunity.

We are recruiting a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist educational setting in the NN12 (Tiffield) area. This full‑time, ongoing position offers the chance to work within a supportive and rewarding environment where every day brings the opportunity to positively impact a child’s learning journey.

The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, complex learning difficulties, communication needs, and behavioural challenges. Some pupils are non‑verbal and require personal care, so we are looking for someone who is compassionate, patient, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

The provision caters for both primary and secondary‑aged pupils, with the majority of students currently in the lower year groups.

The Role
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, tailored learning activities.
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and personal growth.
  • Provide personal care where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
About You
  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism and complex needs (desirable).
  • Is patient, resilient, and empathetic.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and succeed.
