SEMH Maths Teacher (KS3–KS4)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and committed SEMH Maths Teacher to join a specialist provision in Silverstone from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to re‑engage with education and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEMH needs and associated learning difficulties.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils to support engagement, attendance and achievement.
• Create a structured and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, ensuring appropriate intervention and support is in place.
• Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, teaching assistants, families and external agencies.
• Prepare students for GCSE Mathematics and support them in achieving their full potential.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Mathematics at KS3 and KS4.
• A strong understanding of SEMH needs and trauma‑informed approaches to teaching and learning.
• Experience working with pupils who display challenging behaviour, or a willingness to develop these skills.
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resilience, patience and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.

• Previous experience working within an SEMH, alternative provision or specialist educational setting.
• Knowledge of restorative practices, de‑escalation techniques and therapeutic approaches.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD or Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
