Position: Lead Epitaxy Engineer. Job Lily Lifestyle Jobs

You will join a fast‑paced and innovative semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technically challenging setting and enjoys working as part of a highly motivated and collaborative team.

In this position, you will provide hands‑on engineering support to production operations, ensuring the reliability and performance of epitaxy equipment. Your work will involve maintaining and improving complex manufacturing systems, supporting fault finding and repairs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment uptime and efficiency.

You will coordinate maintenance activities, contribute to equipment upgrades and new installations, and support the introduction of new tools into production. The role also involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams including process engineering, manufacturing operations, and site facilities. You will oversee equipment performance, manage spare parts and process materials, and ensure all activities comply with strict safety and environmental standards.

You will also have opportunities to lead technical initiatives, support and guide technicians, and liaise with external suppliers and service providers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering, supported by relevant qualifications or apprenticeship training, along with significant experience in a semiconductor or wafer fabrication environment.

A solid understanding of epitaxy processes such as MOVPE or MOCVD is essential, along with knowledge of vacuum systems, gas handling, and PLC‑controlled equipment. You should be confident in interpreting technical schematics and working with both low and high voltage systems.

This role requires someone comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and handling hazardous process gases, with appropriate training provided where needed. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

The position operates on a daytime schedule and may occasionally require additional flexibility to support operational needs.

Requirements:
  • Strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering with relevant qualifications or apprenticeship training.
  • Significant experience working within a semiconductor or wafer fabrication environment.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of epitaxy processes such as MOVPE or MOCVD.
  • Understanding of vacuum systems, gas handling systems, and PLC‑controlled equipment, with the ability to interpret technical schematics.
  • Experience working safely with both low and high voltage systems in a cleanroom environment, with awareness of hazardous process gases.
