DescriptionWe are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Trainer to join our brilliant team here in Silverstone. As a Health and Safety Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging effective training programmes and ensuring our teams are equipped with the skills, awareness and behaviours to operate safely and protect each other in high pressure, precision environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deliver health and safety training programmes that meet the needs of the business (e.g., machinery safety, PPE, toolbox talks and safe systems).
- Understand training needs analysis in collaboration with operational and L&D teams.
- Delivery of General H&S courses for example COSHH, Spill Kit, Hand Arm Vibration, Noise, Sharpes and specialisms Working at Height, Manual Handling, Abrasive wheels and Material Handling Equipment.
- Deliver both classroom and on-site practical training sessions.
- Maintain up-to-date training records and ensure compliance with legal and industry standards.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve content and delivery methods.
- Support incident investigations by identifying training gaps and recommending corrective actions.
- Stay current with HSE legislation, industry best practices, and technological advancements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed safety into onboarding and ensure that all colleagues both understand and support a full culture of safe working and full awareness.
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification (essential).
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent teaching/training qualification).
- Proven experience delivering H&S training in an engineering, motor sport, or comparable environment. Strong understanding of engineering processes and associated risks.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to tailor training to diverse audiences, from apprentices to senior managers
- Understanding of data and training gap analysis
- Excellent level of IT skills (e.g. word/excel/PowerPoint/outlook).
- Ability to build strong working relationships with external & internal colleagues.
- Attention to detail.
- Proactive nature, willing to learn quickly and to take on new challenges.
