Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Event IT Communications Engineer is responsible for delivering resilient, high-performance communications services in support of motor sport operations across factory and trackside environments.

This role combines ownership of event communications systems—including radio, IP-based intercom across multiple sites and RF technologies - with hands-on IT infrastructure support to a self-sufficient level. This role will ensure race-critical systems remain operational in some of the most demanding high-pressure environments in elite motor sport.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in enabling seamless communication between drivers, engineers, mechanics, race operations, and leadership while also supporting wider communications with external parties and satellite sites.

This is a highly mobile role requiring international travel, technical versatility, and the ability to troubleshoot under intense operational pressure where reliability and response time are critical.

  • Own the deployment, operation, and support of all event communications systems across race and test operations
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain RF radio systems, IP-based Intercom systems, DECT Belt packs, Virtual intercom panels, Driver helmet communications and VIP / guest communication solutions
  • Program radios and communications equipment with authorised frequencies for each event
  • Coordinate communications integration with governing bodies, suppliers, and technical partners including FIA, FOM, and vehicle communications providers
  • Support ear moulding and bespoke driver communication hardware preparation where required
  • Work closely with the IT Team to ensure network integration is stable
  • Prepare, test, stage, and maintain all communications and IT equipment between events. Build and validate race event kits, ensuring all systems are fully functional before deployment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, testing, and repair of communications and IT hardware. Ensure event readiness through structured testing and validation processes
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, configuration records, and operational checklists
  • Follow structured incident, problem, and change management processes
  • Research, develop and deploy innovative improvements in the communications space
  • Take ownership of the Trackside communications space being the single contact for the race team in this area
