The Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit (CICU) is a 47‑bed unit providing cardiac intermediate care with telemetry, progressive care, and overflow services for conditions such as Cardiac/Telemetry, S/P Cath, pacer, ICD, Stroke, Seizures, GI Bleed, Sepsis, and Med/Surg overflow. The unit is staffed by approximately 149 employees and operates 12‑hour shifts.

36 hours, nights and every other weekend, 7:00pm – 7:30am.

• Apply competent clinical practice with decision‑making and critical thinking skills.
• Show accountability for ongoing professional growth, unit operations, and rapidly changing situations.
• Engage patients and families in goal setting and care planning, and communicate collaboratively across shifts and settings.
• Embrace and promote change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school;
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• New graduate nurses with a temporary license are placed in this transition level.
• Graduate Nurse status applies while awaiting permanent licensure by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing; inactive temporary licenses result in loss of eligibility.
• Obtain and maintain BCLS qualification during orientation and employment.
• Pursue professional certification upon eligibility or within three years of entering the specialty practice.
• Advance basic computer skills to adapt to new or upgraded systems.

• Schedule may include 8–12 hours per day with weekend/holiday coverage as unit needs dictate.
• Personnel may cover absences by rotating, working extra shifts, or using on‑call as needed.
• Initial assignment to one area, with possible reassignment to other areas to meet patient needs.
