PositionSummary
The Senior Client Analyst supports client consultants within the Investment Practice by providing advanced operational, analytical, and project support across a range of retirement plan clients. This role works closely with plan sponsors, recordkeepers, and internal stakeholders to support ongoing client deliverables, plan governance activities, and service provider oversight. While experience with Defined Contribution (DC) recordkeeping is a key area of exposure, the role is intended for a professional with broad retirement plan experience who can apply their skills across multiple client and plan contexts.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a primary operational and analytical resource to client consultants for assigned investment clients.
- Interact directly with plan sponsors to gather information, respond to requests, and support day‑to‑day client needs.
- Participate in client meetings and projects as appropriate, particularly related to operational topics, reporting, and service provider coordination.
- Support the ongoing operational aspects of clients’ retirement plans, including coordination with recordkeepers and other service providers.
- Leverage Defined Contribution recordkeeping exposure to support plan administration, issue resolution, and data management, while applying best practices across varied plan types.
- Assist with onboarding new service providers, including recordkeepers, and support implementation and transition activities.
- Prepare and maintain performance monitoring and other client reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
- Support consultants with report review, analysis, and interpretation of results.
- Assist with ad hoc analyses related to investments, plan operations, and service providers.
- Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of Investment Policy Statements (IPS) and related governance documentation.
- Support plan sponsor governance processes, including documentation tracking and periodic reviews.
- Support service provider searches, including recordkeeping evaluations, by assisting with data collection, analysis, documentation, and project coordination.
- Help manage timelines, materials, and communications related to provider selection and onboarding.
- Provide operational support during service provider transitions to promote a smooth and efficient implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in retirement plan operations, investment consulting, or a related field, with exposure to Defined Contribution plans.
- Experience interacting directly with plan sponsors and supporting client‑facing consultants.
- Exposure to service provider searches, RFP processes, or vendor evaluations.
- Strong understanding of retirement plan operations and service provider relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a client‑service environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience working for or closely with a retirement plan recordkeeper.
- Experience supporting investment consultants or advisory teams.
- Familiarity with performance reporting tools and recordkeeping platforms.
- Experience supporting service provider transitions or implementations.
