Assists with supervising students in the cafeteria and during recess. Provides direct assistance to students with a variety of needs during the meal service. Assists in keeping the cafeteria clean. Assists with monitoring students during recess. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with the supervision of students during meal service by ensuring compliance with school rules and regulations.
- Assists with the supervision and monitoring of students during recess.
- Reports behavior issues as directed to the appropriate instructional or administrative staff in a timely manner.
- Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner.
- Circulates throughout the cafeteria assisting students who need assistance.
- Assures tables and floors are free from food and papers at the end of meals
- Maintains order and encourages good table manners.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, Training and
Experience:
- High school diploma or appropriate equivalent preferred.
- Possession of a valid BCPS fingerprint card required.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of school and cafeteria rules and activities.
- Skill in verbal communication.
- Ability to provide assistance to students. Ability to supervise students. Ability to follow and enforce safety and disciplinary rules. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, and other school personnel.
The work of this class involves physical activities such as frequent walking, standing, and bending.
Conditions Of Employment
- Employment in this position is contingent upon successfully completing a background, Department of Social Services (DSS) and criminal history check. A completed application must be on file in the Office of Staffing/Temporary Services to be eligible to work in this position.
