We are seeking an experienced Safety Leader to join our team. This role promotes a culture of safety on construction sites and in our fabrication shops. The ideal candidate will develop, implement, and oversee health and safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries, ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs in compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections in the field and shops and conduct audits to identify potential hazards and ensure safety compliance.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide safety training and education to employees, contractors, and site personnel.
- Enforce safety standards and regulations, issuing recommendations or corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all phases of construction projects.
- Maintain accurate safety records, including compliance documentation, incident reports, and training logs.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure proper reporting of safety concerns.
- Conduct risk assessments and prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA's).
- Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and provide ongoing safety guidance to teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a safety, EHS, or risk management role.
- Ability to travel to construction sites within the region up to 75% of the time.
- Relevant professional certifications preferred, such as ASP, CSP, or CHST, or ability to obtain certification within the first 12 months of employment.
- Construction safety and industry experience preferred.
