We are seeking a Transportation Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to join our transportation team in one of our Mid‑Atlantic office locations (Towson, MD; Rockville, MD; Mechanicsburg, PA; or Herndon, VA). Selected candidates may work from any of these offices and are also asked to support projects in other AMT offices.

Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution (required)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience preparing roadway, highway, and traffic control plans
  • Engineering‑in‑Training (EIT/FE) preferred
  • Experience with Micro Station Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
Responsibilities
  • Support a variety of projects, including data collection, existing condition and alternative analysis, and preparation of engineering reports
  • Develop horizontal and vertical alignments
  • Perform cross‑section and superelevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, roadway modelling
  • Provide design support for erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, right‑of‑way plans, utility relocation plans, permit application drawings, and traffic‑related plans
