Dev Ops Engineer, Washington DC/Remote

Our client, located in Washington, DC, is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer for a remote, direct or contract to hire opportunity.

Work is currently remote with potential plans to return to the office safely in the fall (still with remote potential).

Description

Our client is seeking a dynamic Dev Ops Deployment Specialist to develop software applications/solutions to adhere to designs supporting external customers. You will develop a detailed functional and technical design, and test specifications. Enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot application requests. Database administration and maintenance performance tuning of Cloud-based SQL platform databases. Resolves database problems. Helps design custom databases and applications.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in Dev Ops, and engineering.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience in healthcare.
• Experience with Redshift and Database administration.
• Experience monitoring, diagnosing, analyzing the root cause, and implementing preventative measures to avoid reoccurrence.
• A nimble approach to application builds and cloud deployments.
• Eager to provide technical guidance and education to team members and coworkers on Dev Ops best practices.
• A team player with excellent communication skills that is also comfortable working independently.
• Keeps in mind security while maintaining and developing infrastructure and tools. Always thinking of logs, monitors, and alerts.
• Relentless focus on automation and reproducibility. Able to accomplish that with increasingly complex tools (bash, Python, Ansible, etc).
• Have worked within HIPAA and other compliance specifications.
• Always the following advancement in cloud computing technologies and applications.
• Experience creating scalable infrastructure in a multi-account AWS, Azure

Preferred Skills

• B.A./B.S. undergraduate degree preferred.
