Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Nurse assesses patients' conditions and coordinates care with families and healthcare team members. This role requires the application of teaching and learning principles for both patients and their families while identifying and resolving patient care issues.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients based on changes in conditions and responses to treatments.

• Coordinate care planning with patients, families, and health team members.

• Implement teaching principles to educate patients and families.

• Identify and address unit, staff, and patient care issues; refer to appropriate resources when necessary.

• Coordinate patient activities with various disciplines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 24 months of current Labor and Delivery experience.

• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.

• Active Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.

• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.

• Active NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

• Active American Heart Association NRP certification.

• COVID vaccination required; declinations not accepted.

• Supervisory references from the last 6 and 12 months.

• Skills checklist specific to Labor and Delivery discipline.
