Travel RN - Cath Lab​/EP

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP RN with 2+ years of recent Cath Lab/Interventional scrubbing experience for a 13-week day shift contract requiring on-call and weekend coverage.

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab/Interventional scrubbing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in ACT monitoring, cardioversion, circulating procedures, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, sheath removal/monitoring, and vascular closure systems
• Experience with diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, left and right heart catheterizations, and IABP placement/removal
• Knowledge of antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and thrombolytics
• Comfortable administering and monitoring procedural sedation

• Work in a unit with 2 Cath Labs and 1 Hybrid OR
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Performs procedures including IABP, Rotablator, Shockwave, structural interventions, PFO closure, TAVR, Mitra Clip, and Watchman
• Uses GE Innova IGS, Philips, GE Mac Lab, IVUS, and FFR equipment with EPIC charting
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 06:30-17:00, rotating days as needed Monday-Friday
• On-call required up to 13 weekdays as needed, 5pm-6am Monday-Thursday
• Weekend coverage required (3 weekends per contract), inclusive of on-call Friday 5pm through Monday 6am
• Holiday coverage required, inclusive of on-call as scheduled
• Block scheduling and special scheduling requests cannot be accommodated
• Travelers are expected to float within scope with no restrictions
• Provide nursing care across diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and hybrid OR settings
• Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility are not accepted unless locals are specifically accepted at a reduced local travel rate
• Returning staff must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers typically must be away from the system for at least 6 months after completing an assignment
• Most locations allow for one contract and one extension, after which a 6-month break is required before returning to the facility or unit
• Maximum of 7 RTO days can be requested; more than 4 consecutive days requires an additional week added to the back end of new contracts
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
