This part-time position will support the Office of Human Trafficking Prevention by assisting with administrative coordination, task management, meeting logistics, outreach follow-up, and light research. The position will also support programmatic work and engage with subject matter related to human trafficking, interpersonal violence, domestic violence, and sexual assault. The position will also assist in coordinating partnerships, organizing projects, and supporting system-level strategies addressing trafficking vulnerabilities in Howard County.
This is a contingent position, meaning that it is not a part of the Howard County Classified Service and does not accrue County service time for the purpose of calculating any service benefit. This position is paid hourly and may work a varying number of hours per week, based on the availability of funding and a continued need. A contingent employee is only eligible for fringe benefits required by State or Federal law.
- Support task management and project tracking for OHTP initiatives.
- Assist with calendar management and meeting scheduling.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and partner events.
- Organize internal documentation and workflow systems.
- Track outreach, trainings, and partnership activities.
- Assist with follow-up communication with community partners.
- Provide logistical support for outreach initiatives.
- Conduct light research related to trafficking prevention strategies and policies.
- Assist with documentation of system-level initiatives and projects.
- Support preparation of meeting materials and summaries when needed.
- Other related duties may be assigned.
Associate's degree and/or a minimum of one (1) year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:Valid Driver's License.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:- Interest or experience in human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual violence, or victim services
- Strong organizational and administrative coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong written and professional communication skills
- Comfort working with sensitive subject matter
- Experience with outreach coordination, research, or program support preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with an ethnically diverse population
- Strong computer proficiency especially with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), database management and spreadsheet applications
- Proficiency in virtual platforms and use of technology for human services delivery.
