Pay: 23 and up D.O.E
Schedule: Monday – Friday AWS
Position Summary:
Establishes and maintains activities to develop, locate, and secure job openings for Public Housing residents to support economic development and independence; markets programs and coordinates job resources; performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- Effectively market and represent a program and services to employers.
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written form, plan and make presentations to small groups including potential employers, business representatives, teachers, and program participants.
- Supports residents in job searching and placement.
- Recruit participants for training programs offered by the project.
- Participate in outreach activities and events to recruit participants for the workforce development programs.
- Collection of data and documentation necessary for grant reports, including new hires, community outreach, program enrollment, etc.
- Conduct data collection and surveys to identify areas of focus and analyze trends to support the program growth and achievements.
- Report regularly on short-term and long-term goals, challenges, success stories, income, program effectiveness and outcomes.
- Correspondence with the local service providers and partners, to gain data needed for reporting.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients.
- Evaluates individual's background, skills, and interest and matches potential job openings or training programs.
- Identifies skill gaps and develops strategies to address these areas with training and development plans.
- Promote and facilitate learning and training to provide support to the candidate in their professional development opportunities.
- Coaches and prepares candidates for interview and entry into the workforce.
- Conducts necessary follow-up when applicants are placed in positions.
- Research Internet, newspapers, agencies, and other resources for job leads.
- Collects data from employers including job requirements and skills; matches job skills with applicant qualifications and refers qualified applicants to employers.
- Keeps updated information regarding job fairs and Internet resources.
