Stylist

Overview

The Stylist is responsible for engaging with guests, consulting with them on their hair care needs and recommending products and services. The Stylist delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. They support the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through a focus on performance, people, and process.

• Performance
• Perform hair services (hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, ear piercing)
• Meet or exceed sales goal of $800 average weekly sales and productivity goals
• Demonstrate business acumen and identify growth opportunities
• Perform product demonstrations with guests
• Support in-store events and promotions
• Stay informed about industry trends and product knowledge
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance
• People
• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations
• Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image
• Serve all guests, including walk-in guests, efficiently
• Partner with skin therapists and retail team for a total-store experience
• Establish professional peer and brand partner relationships
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program with guests
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings
• Process
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies and standards
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
• Follow established service protocols
• Utilize booking systems for guest scheduling
• Communicate supply needs to EM
• Maintain store operational standards and cleanliness
• Adhere to dress code
• Follow loss prevention best practices

• Education Cosmetology license
• Experience Previous relevant salon experience is preferred
• Skills Proficiency with latest salon techniques; proficiency with equipment and chemicals; ability to demonstrate and sell products; communication skills; independent and teamwork; build and maintain strong customer relationships

• Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Frequent mobility during shift
• Continuous lifting up to 10 lbs
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, crouching
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00 / Hour with the opportunity to earn services pay under the Services Compensation Plan. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by applicable law and tips paid by service guests. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
