Dedicated to the rescue, nurturing and adoption of companion animals.

To rescue and nurture companion animals with the mission of finding them safe and happy adoptive homes. We strive to create community awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering to avoid overpopulation and reduce the community euthanasia rate.

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. In 2002, Animal Rescue of Tracy became a full‑fledged, independent, non‑profit rescue. We have rescued, spayed/neutered, and found homes for more than 2,000 cats and dogs. We rescue animals from the local shelter and work with the public in select abandonment situations.

Junior/Youth Volunteers are welcome all year round (even if you’re out of school, you can still receive credit for school!). We have adoption fairs on Saturdays and Sundays at the West Valley Mall in Tracy. You will show our cats, talk about them, and can earn community service hours for high school. Think of it as your first “job”, but you get to spend it cuddling and playing with cats!

You must be at least 14 years old to be a Junior/Youth Volunteer.

• Age 14 or older.
• Ability to volunteer at adoption fairs on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Enthusiastic about animal care.
