American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a CA RN license, NRP certification, and advanced fetal monitoring skills.

• Labor and Delivery unit within a community hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• 13-week assignment length

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NRP provider certification required
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring experience required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Must be comfortable caring for both the delivered mother and newborn
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with medication administration including antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and Terbutaline
• Experience assisting with vaginal delivery, circulating for and recovering from C-sections
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care including APGAR scoring
• Experience with External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)
• Experience with epidural anesthesia and PCA pain management

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Perform triage of obstetrical patients and sterile vaginal exams
• Assist with cesarean section recovery and manage postpartum complications such as bladder distension and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Accepts local candidates at a local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers not specified as eligible for this role
