Job SummaryResponsible for overall EHS compliance. Implements procedures and programs to minimize environmental, health and safety risks and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities- Responsible for EHS Compliance at San Martin and Gilroy sites.
- Coaches, trains, and supports operations in executing Daily Fundamentals.
- Builds strong relationships with managers and employees on EHS and acts as a resource.
- Coordinates, plans, and facilitates training seminars.
- Travels and supports two facilities.
- Educates staff via weekly safety trainings in English and Spanish.
- Assists in Incident Management including Near Misses, Hazards, and Accidents.
- Coordinates/ leads Safety Committee meetings monthly.
- Provides weekly coaching on Lockout/Tagout and conducts procedural audits.
- Performs weekly, monthly, and annual inspections at each plant and documents completion in Riskonnect.
- Analyzes trends and performs root cause analysis for incidents, developing and following up on corrective actions.
- Learns and understands site‑specific machinery to identify safety zones and develop procedures for safe operations.
- Recognizes safety hazards or unsafe work practices and develops Corrective Action Plans.
- Assists site management with various EHS and production‑related projects as needed.
- Communicates and escalates issues with leadership in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties related to the nature of the job as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent training, experience, and education.
- Valid CA Driver’s License.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in manufacturing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with employees and managers.
- Working knowledge of OSHA 10, California State, and EPA regulations.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plant safety procedures, professional journals, and technical manuals.
- Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and critical reasoning skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual – English & Spanish preferred.
- Knowledge of environmental permitting and compliance.
- OSHA 30 certified.
- HAZWOPER certified.
- RCRA certified.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certified.
- Must frequently sit and stand for extended periods; perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions with a computer and keyboard.
- Must wear company‑provided personal protective equipment – earplugs, hard hat, safety boots/shoes, and protective glasses. Candidates must provide their own safety boots/shoes upon hire and may qualify for a safety boots/shoe reimbursement program after 30 days.
