Quality Engineer - Metal Fabrication

$34 - $35 per hour | Tracy, CA | On-site | Permanent

A privately held manufacturing company specializing in custom metal fabrication and precision-engineered components for a variety of industrial and technology-driven markets. The company provides end-to-end manufacturing capabilities, including fabrication, finishing, and assembly, with a focus on product quality, precision, and meeting customer specifications.

• 5+ years in manufacturing quality, ideally with experience managing a quality function or leading a quality team in a precision manufacturing environment.
• ISO 9001:2015 expertise, including maintaining a quality management system, preparing for audits, managing corrective actions and driving continuous improvement.
• Precision sheet-metal or metal fabrication experience, including CNC machining, laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, assembly or finishing.
• Blueprint reading and GD&T, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, engineering drawings, dimensional inspection and measurement equipment.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action, including 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone analysis, CAPA, nonconformance reports and preventive actions.
• Customer and supplier quality management, including handling customer complaints, supplier defects, first-article inspections and corrective-action requests.
• Leadership and floor presence, with the ability to coach inspectors, work directly with production, and resolve quality problems without unnecessarily disrupting manufacturing.
