Overview
Katerra Construction has an exciting position open for applicants that are interested in continuing their construction career as a Plumbing Equipment Operator. Our Plumbing Equipment Operator position requires a minimum of five years experience as a trade laborer, a valid state driver's license, a variety of equipment operating experience on a grader, loader, backhoe, excavator and forklift, a solid understanding of construction processes, site operations and advanced safety guidelines.
Our laborers are a respected and important part of the build team and will work under the supervision of a skilled journey worker. The role of the trade laborer is to assist the craft workers by moving materials and equipment, job site housekeeping, and perform general installation tasks. Our Trade Laborers will be assigned to specific trade team or assigned to general site logistics.
You will be required to be certified in the use and movement of various pieces of construction equipment such as forklifts, and lulls. Rigging and signaling of flown materials, and ground transportation of materials are part of the job responsibilities. This is an advanced level position, that could lead to becoming a participant in our specialty trade program that would include employer provided vocational instruction and on the job training while earning a competitive wage.
- Understands basic hand tools and their use.
- Must be comfortable working at heights.
- Must be on time and be able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week.
- Willing to work in a safety compliant environment that requires PPE.
- Able to regularly lift 50 lbs.
- Work will be on an active construction site that can have temperature extremes.
- Comfortable working around heavy construction equipment.
- Forklift, AWP and Rigger/Signal certifications a plus.
- OSHA 10 Certified is a plus
- CPR-First Aid Certified is a plus.
- Backhoe, Loader, Grader certified/trained
- Forklift Certified
- Five years of experience as a trade laborer or related construction experience.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Experience operating equipment such as a grader, loader, backhoe, excavator and forklift.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, site operations and safety guidelines.
