What You Will Be Doing
Our Tracy, CA Distribution Center has an Immediate need for a Diesel Mechanic to join our high performing transportation team at our Distribution Center located in beautiful Tracy, CA. This is a hands-on opportunity that offers continued career progression.

The salary for this position is $36.27/hr we also have an “in-training” position starting at $32.64/hr starting salary may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications.

Main Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel tractors, trailers, and trailer refrigeration units.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment problems.
• Answer drivers’ telephone request for assistance with equipment failure while out on the road.
• Maintain and repair all equipment (tractors, trailers, trailer refrigeration units, converter gears) to include engines, starting and charging, cooling, electrical, body, wheels, brakes, and suspension.
• Follow all company procedures and ensure a safe work environment.
• Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.

What We Are Searching For
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Prior experience as a Diesel Mechanic or combination of formal/technical education and directly related experience.
• Experience in electronic diagnostics and welding.
• Experience in engine diagnostics specifically as relates to heavy equipment.
• Experience in welding of suspension systems as relates to heavy equipment.
• Must be 18 years of age or older, with a valid driver’s license.
• Current CDL license (preferred)
• Must supply own tools up to 1 ¼” size with the proper toolbox, including pneumatic tools.
• Ability to reach, lift and work objects weighing up to 100 lbs. Ability to push and pull heavy equipment.
• Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and high places.
• Ability to stand, walk and work in close quarters, prone and awkward positions for lengthy periods occasionally.
• Mental alertness and good vision are necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.
• Exposure to hazards exists with respect to equipment, work areas, tools welding equipment, presses and other power equipment.
• Must be able to work full-time.
