Jardeg is currently recruiting for Carpenter Apprentices to work with our Airport Trail Project team in Calgary!
The schedule for this position is 5 days on 2 days off;
Monday to Friday. There may be a chance to work overtime (this may include extended hours/ weekends and night shift) if site requires.
As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will:
- Assist in building forms for concrete
- Cut, shape, and join specialty materials per specifications
- Look for and fix deficiencies
- Check accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
- Study blueprints for work planning
- Construct and forms chutes for pouring concrete
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
Inform immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
- Loading/unloading materials
Perform labourer duties in addition to carpentry work
- Maintain clean, organized work areas; remove debris and hazards; support end-of-shift cleanup
Requirements:
- Preference will be given to Registered Carpenter Apprentice from a recognized provincial training authority
- Non-registered carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Certifications:
CSTS & WHMIS - Fall Protection is an asset
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
