Ormiston Victory is an innovative, positive and ambitious academy which is seeking to appoint a hard‑working and committed Site Assistant Apprentice to work as part of a highly dedicated and professional team.

This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to be part of a successful, friendly and dedicated team and incorporates study and completion of the Facilities Services Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship with GLP Training whilst working during a fixed‑term (16 month) placement.

At Ormiston Victory, we believe all students can be successful, given the right support. We take great pride in our facilities and the successful applicant will be expected to ensure students, staff and visitors are provided with a safe, secure and well‑maintained environment throughout all the academy buildings and grounds.

We are looking for a focused and conscientious individual who wishes to develop their skills in respect of routine maintenance and monitoring of services and equipment. You will need to be flexible in your working hours, be self‑motivated and able to manage your own workload. A Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics (or equivalent) is essential, along with a good level of communication skills and a basic knowledge of ICT.

As our Site Assistant Apprentice, your main duties will include:

  • General maintenance, repairs and improvements
  • Keeping the academy clean and tidy and routine grounds maintenance
  • Site security and undertaking key holder responsibilities being on call for emergencies
  • Maintenance of the mini bus and occasional driving
  • Porterage requirements and moving goods and furniture
  • Undertake training and attend meetings as necessary
