Reports To: Home Manager

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our care home team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced, and appetising meals for our residents, many of whom have specific dietary needs. You will play a key role in promoting residents' health and well-being through food, ensuring mealtimes are a positive and enjoyable experience.

• Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to residents' dietary requirements, preferences, and nutritional needs
• Work closely with the care team to ensure individual dietary plans are followed, including soft diets, diabetic meals, and allergy-aware menus
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in accordance with health and safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, COSHH)
• Monitor stock levels, place food orders, and manage kitchen budgets responsibly
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, tidy, and compliant with food safety standards at all times
• Support themed days and special occasions with appropriate menu planning
• Supervise and support kitchen assistants and ensure smooth running of meal services
• Engage with residents for feedback and meal preferences to continuously improve food services

• Previous experience working as a Chef, ideally within a care home or healthcare environment
• Knowledge of nutritional needs for older adults and experience catering for special dietary requirements
• Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3 Certificate (required)
• Strong understanding of food safety and cleanliness standards
• Ability to work in a team and under pressure
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Passionate about delivering high-quality meals that promote dignity and wellbeing
