Purchasing Manager - Traverse Area

Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Source, evaluate, and manage a robust supplier base for raw materials, components, and MRO.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with production and planning teams to ensure timely availability of materials and minimize stockouts.
• Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain risks to inform purchasing decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing processes and supplier performance.
• Ensure all purchased materials and services meet required quality standards and specifications.

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced data analysis skills.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, raw materials, and quality standards.
• Proven ability to drive cost savings and optimize supply chain efficiencies.

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience with global sourcing and international logistics.
• Advanced proficiency with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365) for purchasing modules.
