A Day in the Life

Environmental Services is front line infection prevention responsible for performing services in accordance with established organizational policies and procedures for providing a safe environment, achieved by demonstrating the principles of cleaning, disinfection and quality assurance toward the reduction of harmful pathogens for the benefit of patients, visitors, and staff.

• Documents co-worker(s) performance
• Serves as a working leader, coordinating activities of co-workers engaged in environmental services.
• Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees.
• Assists in monitoring employee productivity and provides suggestions for increased service or productivity.
• Assists in the supervision of day-to-day activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities.
• Orients and trains employees.
• Operates the bed tracking program and assigns beds for completion.
• Completes room inspections and conducts patient interviews.
• Performs day to day assignments in addition to lead duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

What’s Required

• High School Diploma/ GED or 2 years of progressively more responsible experience in Environmental Services/Hospitality industry and in production.
• Obtain CHEST or CSCT within 12 months of hire.

What’s Preferred

• Supervisory or leadership experience.
