Scope

Of Position

The primary objective is to lead plant improvement activities (Sweet Success Continuous Improvement Program) through Lean Production System Design, effective problem solving techniques, and performance improvement initiatives. Train and coach plant personnel to develop a zero losses culture. The role requires effective communication with plant personnel, frontline supervisors, and operating managers, and may involve travel. The Plant Continuous Improvement Manager will be located at the specified plant site.

Responsibilities
  • Implement Continuous Improvement program to drive a Zero Loss Culture.
  • Build an accountable culture of Excellence.
  • Lead loss analysis & OEE improvement plan development, execution, and results tracking.
  • Develop and implement capital equipment projects to support OEE improvements.
  • Oversee analytical troubleshooting & problem-solving activities.
  • Facilitate Lean Six Sigma (LSS) project management leveraging the internal Continuous Improvement Program (Sweet Success).
  • Oversee the Downtime collection system.
  • Develop the team to solve day-to-day operational issues and achieve short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Deliver effective change leadership, driving business changes with minimal people impact.
  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to solve operational issues.
  • Engage employees at all levels in problem-solving to achieve plant goals.
  • Motivate team members to achieve plan goals and foster a data-driven, frontline culture.
  • Understand TPM pillars:
    Focused Improvement (FI), Autonomous Activities (AA), Planned Maintenance (PM), Early Management (EM), Personal Development (PD).
  • Understand the CQV process – Commissioning, Qualification, Verification.
  • Apply reliability expertise to stabilize and improve operations, reducing variation through capital, procedural, and operational improvements.
  • Develop and maintain staffing and scrap standards for new and revised manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication through meetings and plant communications.
  • Oversee process improvement capital projects from design to on-time, within-budget completion.
  • Help establish meaningful plant metrics to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Improve safety performance through Lean tools.
  • Organize plant idea generation and improvement initiative planning; stabilize plant performance and identify opportunities.
  • Diagnose and evaluate performance challenges related to demand management, forecasting, inventory, capacity, and production planning.
  • Lead plant root cause problem-solving initiatives.
  • Assist in the design of work standards, quality control charts, and other elements of superior manufacturing practices.
  • Assist in creating production control and scheduling methods aligned with demand patterns.
  • Train and coach personnel to utilize Lean Tools.
  • Assist leadership in assessing progress of plant initiatives and programs.
  • Aid in developing and managing capital improvement projects on time and within budget.
