About Trenton Hospital

This Magnet-designated facility provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for its patients and is one of four recipients of the Truven Health Advantage Award in the category of Health and Clinical Outcomes. It is home to nine university affiliated residency programs. Here, you will find a Level II trauma center that is a nationally recognized heart, vascular and pulmonary specialties along with other specialties like orthopedics, neurosurgery, and women s health.

The Certified Surgical Assistant assists the surgeon in the performance of approved surgical procedures, and works under the direct supervision of and by the request of the operating surgeon.
Full-time and part-time regular openings available.

• High school diploma Required
• Associate s Degree or equivalent Preferred. Required years of relevant experience in lieu of associate s degree may be considered
• Completion of a Surgical Tech First Assistant or Certified Surgical Assistant Program Required
• Must receive certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant Certification (CSA) through the NCCSA, or Certified Surgical First Assistant Certification (CSFA) through the NBSTSA Upon Hire Required
• 2 years of relevant experience;
  Surgical assisting experience Preferred
• Certified (CST) - AST Association of Surgical Technologist Preferred
• Certified (CST) - NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Preferred
• Certified (CSFA) - NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Upon Hire Required Or
• At least one Certification from preferred list:
• Certified (CSA) - NCCSA National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants Upon Hire Required
• Certified (SA-C) - ABSA America Board Surgical Assistant Upon Hire Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire Required
• AHA ACLS Adv Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Hire Preferred
