Overview

STEEL TOOL & ENGINEERING CO. is seeking a highly skilled CNC Operator to join our precision aerospace component manufacturing team in Trenton, MI.

Pay Range

Base pay: $18.00/hr - $20.00/hr.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain press machines for stamping, forming, and shaping metal components.
  • Perform sheet metal fabrication, ensuring precise cuts, bends, and finishes.
  • Handle saw cutting operations to trim and prepare materials for production.
  • Execute EDM machining processes for intricate, precision‑cut components.
  • Conduct assembly work, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and quality control.
  • Inspect finished products to meet industry and client specifications.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain an organized, efficient workspace.
Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience with press operations, sheet metal work, saw cutting, and EDM machining.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail in precision machining and quality assurance.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills in production environments.
  • Commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively on projects.
  • Proficiency in reading micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
Physical Capabilities
  • Operate machinery to cut and shape steel materials.
  • Must be comfortable working with heavy machinery and using correct safety equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the day.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace for safety.
  • Team‑oriented; work well with others.
  • Experience working with sheet metal and detecting material defects.
Tools & Technologies
  • GD&T, troubleshooting skills, and CNC machine installation.
  • Calipers and micrometers.
