Responsibilities
  • Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions and concerns quickly and courteously; assist guests with gaming needs; inform about special promotions; recommend additional items; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank guests for shopping at Game Stop.
  • Support visual, operational and sales initiatives to create a clean, organized shopping environment and foster guest loyalty and repeat business.
  • Process purchases and returns accurately using the POS computer system; give receipts and ensure top‑notch service.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and courteously; use Game Stop’s phone greeting; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
  • Promote Game Stop guest benefits (new title reservations, trade‑in program, Pro Rewards).
  • Assist the Store Manager with guest‑service expectations for associate training and guidance.
  • Observe and provide performance feedback to associates; document feedback in Workday/HR system.
  • Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training and compliance training before shifts.
  • Schedule associates and manage staffing levels according to guidelines.
  • Approve payroll, process time off and verify associates are paid.
  • Maintain clean, organized store facilities and equipment in working order.
  • Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.
  • Protect company assets via inventory control and loss‑prevention practices, inspect packages at closing, and communicate concerns.
  • Meet and exceed sales, profit and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
  • Perform inventory counts; restock shelves and align merchandise alphabetically.
  • Balance and reconcile daily business transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits.
  • Verify shipment discrepancies and record them in the POS system; communicate with the Store Manager/District Manager.
  • Process defectives and recalls accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries promptly.
  • Help maintain organized store records and up‑to‑date manuals.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in absence of the Store Manager.
  • Adhere to Game Stop policies, code of standards and ethics.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
  • Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • High‑school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising or related field preferred.
  • At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of retail sales or management experience preferred.
  • Video‑game knowledge preferred.
