Project Accountant

We are looking for a Project Accountant to support the financial oversight of construction-related projects in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. This role focuses on maintaining accurate project cost records, monitoring budgets, and helping teams make informed financial decisions throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong project accounting experience, a solid understanding of construction finance practices, and confidence working with Deltek-based systems.

Responsibilities:
• Track project financial activity, including costs, billings, revenue, and budget performance across active assignments.
• Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records for construction projects, ensuring financial data is current and properly documented.
• Review project budgets and actual spending to identify variances, communicate findings, and support corrective action when needed.
• Partner with project managers and operational teams to provide financial insight that supports planning, forecasting, and project execution.
• Reconcile project-related transactions and assist with month-end reporting to ensure timely and reliable financial results.
• Apply activity-based costing principles to improve cost visibility and support detailed project-level analysis.
• Generate financial reports from Deltek and related accounting tools to support internal stakeholders and leadership decision-making.
• Support project accounting processes within construction environments, including system-based workflows involving Deltek Vision and Construction Pro when applicable.
