Senior Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Trenton, New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone who can manage close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure account balances are properly supported. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills and a consistent approach to reconciliation, reporting, and ledger maintenance.

This role is fully onsite, 5 days a week.

Responsibilities:
• Lead month-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is complete and accurate.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and clear audit trails.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions, correcting discrepancies, and preserving account integrity.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances to resolve outstanding issues promptly.
• Complete bank reconciliations on a recurring basis and follow up on unreconciled items as needed.
• Analyze financial records to identify inconsistencies and recommend corrective accounting actions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information required for close, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
