What will you be doing?
- Design and deliver standards‑aligned dance lessons that develop technical skills, creative expression, and performance abilities.
- Facilitate hands‑on movement experiences to explore rhythm, space, body awareness, and choreography while strengthening communication and collaboration.
- Create a structured, inclusive, welcoming classroom environment that promotes belonging, teamwork, and engagement.
- Model strong emotional intelligence, communication, and interpersonal skills to support positive classroom culture.
- Manage studio space, equipment, and materials to ensure safe, equitable access.
- Assess student progress using formative and summative measures and provide timely, actionable feedback.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning to refine instructional practices and strengthen curriculum.
- Design lessons that reflect cultural diversity and affirm identities of all scholars.
- Collaborate with special education staff, support teams, and instructional leaders for inclusive access.
- Participate in family engagement initiatives and school‑wide events showcasing student performances.
What do we require from you?
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or related art field.
- Valid New Jersey certification in Art with appropriate grade‑level endorsement.
- Demonstrated success delivering standards‑aligned art instruction that engages students.
- At least 2 years of teaching art experience in an urban school setting is preferred.
- Proven ability to support diverse learners through inclusive, differentiated practices.
- Commitment to professional growth, collaboration, and culturally responsive practice aligned to the school’s mission.
