Recruitment Consultant at LVI Associates | New York & New Jersey Transportation & Land SurveyA respected engineering consultancy firm with a strong track record in transportation and public infrastructure is looking for a Highway Design Engineer to join its team in either New York City or Trenton, New Jersey. This firm is known for tackling complex, high-impact projects across the Tri-State area & is looking for someone to join their growing team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of major highway and transportation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while collaborating with project managers, environmental planners, and traffic specialists.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, plans, and specifications for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Utilize state-of-the-art design software to optimize designs for safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project needs and offer expert input throughout the design and implementation phases.
- Review the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance their professional development.
- A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New Jersey or the ability to obtain licensure in the state.
- 5+ years of experience in highway and transportation design, with expertise in roadway or highway design, drainage systems, and traffic management.
- Strong proficiency in industry-standard design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro Station, HEC-RAS, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of New Jersey DOT guidelines and standards.
- Proven experience working on projects with NJDOT
- Experience working on transportation projects in New Jersey with a deep understanding of local regulations and requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
