Environmental Compliance Specialist – St. George Tanaq Corporation
Join to apply for this role. Fully remote and full‑time work with estimated 25‑40% annual travel within the United States. The job is based on relevant federal contracts requiring strong understanding of CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA and NEPA.
OverviewTanaq Environmental, LLC (TEL) delivers environmental engineering, investigation, consulting and remediation services to local, state and federal agencies in the areas of hazardous, toxic and radioactive waste restoration and military munitions site management. TEL is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation committed to serving federal customers while giving back to the Alaskan native community and shareholders.
Responsibilities- Prepare plans, permit applications and reports for various environmental compliance areas including Clean Water Act, NPDES/Stormwater, SPCC/Oil Pollution Act, RCRA, EPCRA and air quality regulations.
- Provide multi‑media environmental support and assess facility operations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, permits and plans, involving on‑site assistance as needed.
- Identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions in technical reports and through oral communication.
- Deliver client support by providing training on environmental compliance topics, in‑person or online.
- 3‑5 years of experience in multi‑media environmental compliance consulting.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and standards such as the Clean Water Act, NPDES, EPCRA, RCRA hazardous waste regulations and SPCC.
- Strong understanding of RCRA hazardous waste regulations, including definitions, hazardous waste listings and EPA waste determination requirements.
- Ability to perform accurate waste profiling using analytical data, SDS review and process knowledge.
- Experience in environmental management systems and ISO 14001 standards Insurance a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Organizational skills and ability to plan and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to execute multiple assignments at various locations.
- Professional demeanor with a positive, solution‑seeking attitude and personal responsibility.
- Valid driver’s license, clear driving record and ability to obtain security clearance to access military bases and federal installations.
- U.S. citizenship required.
