Financial Analyst
Underwrite the deals. Build the models. Write the memos. Sit in the room when the firm decides what to buy and what to walk away from.
01
· The Role
A high-ownership analyst seat on a small, senior deal team underwriting industrial buyouts in the $25M-$125M enterprise value range.
This is not a rotational program. From week one you will own live work streams across screening, diligence, modeling, and IC preparation. You will work directly with partners, the head of M&A, and operating partners on every transaction you touch.
We expect analysts to develop genuine judgment - on businesses, on numbers, on people. The seat is built for someone who wants to become a real investor, not a slide formatter.
Compensation is competitive and includes meaningful bonus participation tied to deal outcomes. Carried interest participation is offered as analysts grow into the role.
02
· What You Will Do
Build the operating model, working capital build, debt schedule, and returns waterfall for every platform and bolt‑on under diligence. Stress test the downside before it gets to IC.
02 ANALYSIS
Read the business, not just the file.Dissect QofE, customer files, pricing data, and pipeline conversion. Reconcile what the CIM says with what the data shows. Flag what the bankers smoothed.
03 MEMOS
Write the IC memo.Draft screening memos, full IC memos, and lender packages. Defend the thesis, the price, the structure, and the value‑creation plan in writing - and in the room.
04 PORTFOLIO
Build monthly reporting packs, track KPIs against the 100-day plan, and support add‑on underwriting and refinancings across the existing portfolio.
03
· What We Expect
We hire for craft and judgment. Pedigree matters less than what you can actually do with a blank workbook and a data room.
- 01 2-4 years in investment banking, transaction services, restructuring, or private equity. Industrial, business services, or building products coverage preferred.
- 02 Fluent in three‑statement modeling, LBO mechanics, and returns analysis. You can build a clean model from a blank workbook - not just edit a template.
- 03 Strong command of accounting and QofE adjustments. You know the difference between adjusted EBITDA and what the bank will actually finance.
- 04 Excellent written communication. You can turn 200 pages of diligence into a five‑page memo a partner can defend.
- 05 Operator orientation. You care about how the business actually runs, not just how the model prints.
- 06 Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative field. Strong academic record.
Nice to have
- Direct experience underwriting lower- or core‑middle‑market industrial transactions ($25M-$125M EV).
- Exposure to add‑on acquisitions, refinancings, or recapitalizations inside a sponsor portfolio.
- Working knowledge of senior debt structures, intercreditor mechanics, and basic credit documentation.
- CFA progress or completion is a plus - not required.
